During a recent trip to Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO, members of The Village surprised their pastor with a special honor.
The seminary celebrated the gift during chapel on September 8. Tim and Nanci Weckwerth of The Village established “The Pastor Paul Ernewein Honorary Annual Scholarship” in memory of Bobbie Jean Weckwerth, Tim’s mother. Pastor Paul was fortunate to be able to minister to Bobbie while she resided in the Slidell area. The scholarship shall be awarded annually to a Concordia Seminary student who demonstrates financial need until funds are exhausted. After the scholarship was announced, Pastor Ernewein and the Weckwerths met with fourth-year student Alex Hoffmeyer, the first student to receive the scholarship. The church is honored to have such wonderful and giving members who desire to help the work of preparing workers to serve congregations.
