Baton Rouge Lutheran School’s Changing of the Guard

Baton Rouge Lutheran School (BRLS) and Trinity Lutheran Church (TLC), 60-year members of the Baton Rouge community, announce the arrival of a new principal–its first in nearly 30 years and only the 4th in the school’s history.

Principal Harmon Butler brings 23 years of experience serving schools in California, Texas, and Michigan. His knowledge and experience in culturally diverse schools in various settings and sizes provide him the insight needed to lead BRLS into the next stage of its life.

BRLS is one of the best-kept secrets in Baton Rouge, with a staff that averages over 16 years of experience and an unsurpassed dedication to their students. BRLS students have academic, athletic and noncurricular opportunities which most other schools cannot match. Students are encouraged and challenged academically, socially, and spiritually. The BRLS family includes children from 6 weeks old through 8th grade.

Trinity Lutheran Church is expanding the BRLS brand to a new campus on S. Harrell’s Ferry Road. The new campus will house Sunday worship and 6-week child development to 4-year old classes starting in January/February 2018.

“I’m truly blessed and humbled at the opportunity to be a part of the leadership of this remarkable Christian organization. The opportunities for mission work within our community through BRLS, Trinity Lutheran Church, and Camp Restore Baton Rouge are incredible!” (Principal Harmon Butler)
