On Sunday, April 22nd, members from St. Mark’s in Elberta, AL, held a benefit lunch and silent auction for Toby Moore, a member who was recently diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. Toby is an alumnus of Lutheran High School of Greater New Orleans (Class of 1985), and he grew up at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in New Orleans (site of Camp Restore).

In 1998, people had the vision to start a church in Santa Rosa Beach. On March 14th, 1998, they had their first service, with 33 attendees. The second service had only three. Hope’s mission and vision was to be “A Light in South Walton.” Twenty years later, we believe we have fulfilled this vision with our service to the community.
South Walton lifeguards are a great blessing that are often taken for granted. Yes, they have a job at the beach, but at any moment they may have to risk their life for another. The beach for them is a place of work, constantly scanning the beach and water to ensure each person’s safety.

The day was filled with anticipation as over a thousand people waited for the egg drop. The helicopter came, and all watched with amazement as thousands of eggs dropped onto the field. The colorful spectacle was mesmerizing.
