For the past few months, the master gardeners and volunteers at St. Paul’s in Foley, AL, have been very busy making the grounds around the church look very attractive. Darlene Tasso, along with Ray and Kay Calloway have spent untold hours getting their hands and knees dirty (and enduring sore backs) as they dug up grass to make new beds and then put in new plants and trees, as well as mulch. The new flowers are looking beautiful in the former playground area, and it has been a wonderful sight to see the young children and adults enjoying the beauty of the area.
We also want to acknowledge Lucille Thau, who was our LWML delegate to the Gulf States District Convention on April 29 – May 1. Lucille was able to take five quilts from our sewing group, in addition to lots of baby items, including bottles, sippy cups, wipes, and socks (for the older kids) to the convention for the LWML Outreach program.
In June, the LWML and quilting group will be meeting to make some new Christmas ornaments to help decorate St. Paul’s sanctuary at Christmas time.
