A Life of Stewardship

      • Leverage Network for Pastors

The LCMS is blessed with the best biblical doctrine and theology, and yet we struggle to share the Gospel with the not yet saved and effectively disciple the baptized. This Network is designed to equip pastors to leverage mission and ministry systems and to support the Word and Sacrament ministry in making disciples. This Network focuses on training, coaching, and mentoring using 8 systems of ministry including: outreach, assimilation, worship, ministry, stewardship, small groups, leadership, and strategic planning.

      • LCEF Ministry Clarity
LCEF Ministry Clarity supports congregations through visioning, strategic planning, and leadership development.

We believe in an intentional and continual devotion to seeking God’s will for ministries. For our partners, this often means beginning with our Ministry Clarity process where we assist you in discerning God’s vision for your congregation. The path to clarity varies for each church, but our end goal is clear: Your leadership is confident in the path and purpose God has lain before them.
      • Making Disciples for Life Stewardship Resources
The LCMS initiative Making Disciples for Life is an online resource center grouped by mission and ministry topics, including stewardship.
      • Everyone His Witness
Everyone His Witness is a relational, contextual Lutheran evangelism program that teaches you how to witness to your nonchurched friends, co-workers, neighbors, and family members. Using the LASSIE approach to witnessing (listen, ask, seek, share, invite, and encourage), you will learn how to share the Good News of Jesus Christ in a natural way with people who are part of your everyday life.

      • LCEF Stewardpath

StewardPath prepares and propels your congregation toward faithful steward living. It has two main goals. First, that your members understand that God has entrusted them with everything they have — time, passions, talents, resources, etc. — to use for His purposes. Second, that your members understand that God has gathered them together as a congregation to be faithful stewards of your collective ministries.

The process comes at these two goals in multiple ways, including multigenerational Bible studies, an interactive seminar and a custom month-long initiative that presents the ministries of your congregation in clear, compelling ways. The entire process culminates after three months with a celebration of what God is doing through you all.

The goal is that your congregation members are joyfully living as faithful stewards and have dedicated themselves to your ministries.
      • LCMS Stewardship Ministry
LCMS Stewardship Ministry helps congregations grow in their understanding and implementation of a life of stewardship.

Christian stewardship is the free and joyous activity of God’s family — the church — in managing life’s resources for His purposes.

Other Resources

      • Financial Peace University
Financial Peace University teaches participants how to manage their finances, in order to live within their God-given means and enable them to be a blessing to others.

The Southern District seeks to provide vision and leadership for mission and ministry as we partner and work together with our congregations to:

      • Engage people in their life circumstance (Connect)
      • Help people know and love Jesus (Grow)
      • Love people unconditionally (Serve)

In response to what God has done and continues to do for us in Jesus, our Savior and Lord,

… we pray
… we live in His power
… we boldly act on His promises

Congregations of the Southern District are asked to prayerfully consider their financial support of mission and ministry within the District and Synod. They are also asked to pledge this support annually through a Partnership Commitment.
