The quilting and craft group of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Foley, AL, had the opportunity to honor one of our veterans, Mr. Uel McCullar, for his services to our country by presenting him with a patriotic quilt made by our ladies.
LWML LA-MS District Retreat
On April 28-30, the ladies of the LWML LA-MS District gathered for a weekend of fellowship and spiritual renewal. The biennial retreat was held at Rosaryville Spirit Life Center in Ponchatoula, LA.
Our Very Own Betty Crocker
The spirit at Faith Lutheran Church in Shreveport, LA, is shown in many ways. One of those ways is the blessing of a nutritious continental breakfast after Sunday school, made by Jackie Dawson. We salute her for taking on this mission even with health issues. We call Jackie “Betty Crocker” because she sometimes brings food she just got out of the oven. Faith thanks Jackie for her service!
Installation of Rev. Robert R. Lydick
Rev. Robert R. Lydick was installed as the pastor of Redemption Lutheran Church in Panama City, FL, on Sunday, April 23. Rev. Randal Ehrichs officiated the installation, and Rev. Steven Mazzaferro served as guest preacher, basing his sermon on the appointed Gospel from John 20.
St. Mark’s Hosts Egg Hunt
St. Mark’s in Elberta, AL, held their annual community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 8. It was a great success, with many children there from the community as well as our church. Toby Moore played his guitar and sang praise music during the event. In addition to the Easter egg hunt, children played many games, colored Christian Easter pictures, and received gift bags and a Christian cross bookmark.
Nothing Too Hard for God
Recognition of accomplishments of African-Americans was held during the Black History Program at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Prattville, AL, where Rev. Jeff Hesterman is the pastor.
