Superintendent John White Visits Lutheran High School

On Monday, November 6th, LHS students and faculty welcomed special visitors, State Superintendent of Education, John White; 1st District BESE Representative, James Garvey Jr.; and Louisiana Scholarship Program Administrator, Olin Parker; for a school visit. These VIP guests were greeted at the door and they enjoyed a student-led tour of the campus, followed by classroom visits and conversations with our students about their many positive experiences at Lutheran High School. LHS was chosen for this visit due to Lutheran High School’s exceptional performance state-wide as a participating school in the Louisiana Scholarship Program.

Camp Noah Comes to Trinity Baton Rouge

August 2017 marked the one-year anniversary of the catastrophic flood that impacted 21 southern Louisiana parishes as well as many families of Trinity Lutheran Church in Baton Rouge, Baton Rouge Lutheran School (BRLS), and Trinity Lutheran Child Development Center (TLCDC). Even after one year, some families are still not in their homes, some are still in FEMA trailers.

Lutheran High School Celebrates the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation

Students and faculty came together during chapel to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. Special thanks to Rev. Kenneth Babin from St. John Lutheran Church (New Orleans, LA) for serving as the guest pastor and leading the chapel service. Little Luther and LHS’s junior mascot, “Lil’ Louie,” helped to mark the occasion. “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9 ESV)

Lutheran High School Welcomes Area Lutheran Elementary Students for LHS Day

On Friday, October 6th, Lutheran High School in Metairie, LA, hosted one of its most successful LHS Days in recent years. More than 150 students in grades 6-8 spent a portion of their school day at LHS, getting to know the faculty and students of Lutheran High School. Our guests rotated through nine classrooms and experienced a subject-themed activity in each!
