The children of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Clinton, MS, recently treated the congregation to a beautifully performed Christmas program. They worked hard to learn all of the songs and lines and did a masterful job of telling the story of Jesus and bringing the true meaning of Christmas to Our Redeemer. The group was led by Karen Berger and Cindy Namanny.
A disaster relief team from Atonement in Metairie, LA, departed for Panama City at the beginning of November. Their mission: to impact lives through Christ—specifically, to love and aid those affected by Hurricane Michael.
Bethel Lutheran Church in New Orleans, LA, held its first annual Men’s Day Program, which took place on November 11th. The theme for this special day was “Real Men Praise God,” based on Psalm 9:1-2: “I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High” (NKJV).
The fellowship hall at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Enterprise, AL, was buzzing with activity as the ladies of the Mary Martha Society at Christ the King hosted the Central Alabama Zone Fall Rally on October 20th.
Eighty-seven ladies from the Gulf States District LWML descended upon Camp Dixie in Josephine, AL, October 5-7, for a much needed retreat.
On November 4th, All Saints’ Day (observed), Christ Lutheran Church celebrated 130 years of Word and Sacrament ministry in Pascagoula, MS. Many things have changed, but the central message has not: It’s still all about Jesus.
